Project by: Greenshoot Consulting x Greenaway Architects
Client: Waverley Council & Bronte Surf Life Saving Club
In partnership with the Bronte Surf Life Saving Club (BSLSC), the Waverley Council has commissioned the redevelopment of the surf club and community facilities building. Warren and Mahoney was appointed as the lead architect in completing this project and the design development is currently underway.
Warren and Mahoney, Oculus, Greenshoot Consulting and Greenaway Architects worked in collaboration with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander stakeholders on a range of opportunities to meaningfully and respectfully embed a Designing with Country approach to the Bronte SLSC project. Greenshoot Consulting developed a Designing with Country Plan & Principles to showcase a deep understanding of place and help facilitate the embedding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge and culture into the project.
A range of opportunities were identified by the Waverley Council RAP Committee & La Perouse Local Aboriginal Land Council in order to embed a Designing with Country approach and these were developed in collaboration between the project design team and Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander stakeholder, facilitated by Greenshoot Consulting.
