Project by: Greenshoot Consulting x Greenaway Architects
Client: Parks Victoria
Greenshoot Consulting collaborated with AECOM to drive First Nations engagement and embed the aspirations of Wurundjeri Elders into the upgrade of Wattle Park. This engagement amplified opportunities for Indigenous leadership, decision making and participation in delivery throughout all project phases. The AECOM Landscape Architecture team and Greenaway Architects assisted in developing interpretive components within the playscape, such as sculpture, stencil art, and a celebratory meeting place suitable for ceremonies and outdoor learning.
In addition, Greenshoot Consulting led the development of the Wattle Park Wayfinding Strategy and Interpretation & Storytelling Strategy to support the aspirations of creating a multi-layered pedagogical experience for all park user to experience. The development of these strategies included an in-depth community consultation process to ensure the Aboriginal, Ecological and Colonial significance of the park was celebrated.
